Topic: Unconscious bias on any characteristic can creep into any interaction in or out of the workplace. These biases can thwart diversity, recruiting and retention efforts, and unknowingly shape an organization’s culture. This year's thought leaders topic and discussion will explore the impact of unconscious bias on organizational culture and business results.
Host: Thank you to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, one of GKCBLN's strategic partners, for hosting this annual event. Dr. Andrea Hendricks, Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Deputy Director of Diversity and Inclusion will deliver the opening remarks.
Speaker: Marvin Carolina is founder and CEO of Team Carolinaand a noted speaker and facilitator. Prior to Team Carolina, he spent 15 years with JE Dunn as Director of Supplier Diversity and then Vice President, Corporate Director of Diversity. Carolina is also a small-business expert, former small-business owner and author. As a former Division I football player, he uses his many lessons about competition and translates them into lessons about business using his charismatic and impactful story-telling style. Carolina has developed programs training: entrepreneurs to compete and grow their business, young adults how to compete and transition from “college to corporate”, and business development professionals to use diversity as a competitive advantage.
